When Do Women Want Attention?

When do women want attention? - ALL THE TIME!!!

This is one of the first things that Tony Robbins teaches in his relationship mastery courses.

It's one of the simplest things you guys can do for your relationship, give her your attention. When? All the time!

She needs attention, if she doesn't get it from you, then she's going to get it from somewhere. And where would you rather she gets it from?

Listen to her, without interrupting, without jumping in with a solution. She wants to feel understood, so if you don't understand her (and lets face it, no matter how much of a human behavior expert you become, as a male, you will never fully understand your partner all the time!) just pretend that you do. If you want to offer her a solution, check with her to see if that's what she wants first. Sometimes she really is asking you for your logical problem solving skills, and when she does, you better man up and give it to her. It's just tricky knowing the right time to offer your solutions.

Pay her compliments, don't just say she's pretty or beautiful, comment on her accessories, her dress, her shoes, her hair, her jewelry, etc. Unlike us blokes, women actually spend a lot of time thinking about what to wear, so she will appreciate it when you acknowledge her.

Compliment her on her culinary skills, and offer to clean up, or collect the plates, do something, don't just be a lazy slob and treat your woman like a slave. It's not the 1950's any more. Participate in the household activities. It won't strip you of your masculinity, but it might just help with your relationship.

Take the trash out. That's your job.

Greet her at the door, kiss her, ask her about her day, ask if she want's anything to drink etc. Make her feel like she's the most important person in your life. Because she is.

Plan ahead. Weekend activities, holidays, etc. Give her something to look forward to. Remember she needs variety to be happy. Remember when you first started dating? What were you doing then that you're not doing now?

When I was looking for a suitable image to add to the post, I found a lot of "Girls want attention, Women want respect". With all due respect - Rubbish! Everyone deserves respect. Give your woman ATTENTION!

I was once invited to an opening day at a small business, I knew that the owners were going through a divorce, and it was awkward because everyone knew that the wife was just there to keep an eye on her financial investment. She was sat alone in a corner, not looking very happy. I could immediately see that she had gotten her hair done just for the occasion, so I went to say hello and commented how nice her hair looked. She lit up like someone flipped a switch.

With Valentines Day just around the corner, give her some attention.

What Is Your Destiny?

What is stopping you from having the life you want right now?

Every little decision, every value you picked up, every belief you formed - they have all, piece by piece, shaped the life you shaped the life you now lead.

What if you could make different choices?
What if you could change your values?
What if you could get rid of limiting beliefs and create new empowering beliefs?
If you could wave a magic wand, what would your life look like, who would you be, what would you do, what would you have and what would you give?

Make the decision now that your life will never be the same again.

What Attitude Are You Bringing to Life?

It's not what happens to you, it's how you perceive what happens to you. - Trevor Long

He was bitter and cruel, an alcoholic and drug addict who almost killed himself several times. Today he serves a life sentence in prison for the murder of a liquor store cashier who "got in his way." He has two sons, born a mere eleven months apart, one of whom grew up to be "just like Dad": a drug addict who lived by stealing and threatening others until he, too, was put in jail for attempted murder. His brother, however, is a different story: a man who's raising three kids, enjoys his marriage, and appears to be truly happy. As regional manager for a major national concern, he finds his work both challenging and rewarding. He's physically fit, and has no alcohol or drug addictions! How could these two young men have turned out so differently, having grown up in virtually the same environment?

Both were asked privately, unbeknownst to the other, "Why has your life turned out this way?"

Surprisingly, they both provided the exact same answer: "What else could I have become, having grown up with a father like that?"

Is everything within you?

When I first got into personal development, way back when, Tony Robbins had me chanting "All I need is within me now, all I need is within me Now, all I need is within me NOW!"

Problem was, I didn't believe it. I'd set my goals, visualise them, do affirmations, but deep down inside I really didn't believe it was going to happen for me. And guess what? I was right!

Recently my fiancee was germinating some seeds, supposedly an 'activated' seed is better for you in your smoothie than a regular dry seed.

We took one of those germinated seeds, and planted it in our little vege patch.

Soon it shot up, and all too soon, it became a beautiful towering sunflower

When you look at that little seed in the palm of your hand, do you see a massive sunflower? Where is it? Is it in the seed? Could you find it if you cracked the seed open? No, all you find inside is a seed that contains the possibility of a sunflower, an idea of a sunflower.

Yet if you plant that seed in fertile soil, the seed will attract to it the water, the nutrients, the sunlight and the air. It will attract to itself all that it needs to transform that invisible, immaterial idea into a fully formed sunflower.

Note that the seed didn't just sit there and wait for everything to happen - it took massive action - by sending out roots and leaves to be able to attract even more of the things it needs to achieve its goal.

So when we first planted that seed, where was the sunflower? It was not in the seed - it was scattered in pieces of sunflower potential throughout its environment.

Goals are achieved in exactly the same way. When you have the idea for a goal, the actual goal is not inside you, but several weeks/months/years from now, your goal will reach fruition.

And remember it takes time to grow a sunflower, you don't go digging it up every five minutes to see if its growing. You just go about watering it, doing what you have to do, while it does what it has to do, all the while knowing that the sunflower is coming.

You'll see it when you believe it.

All you need really is within you, the rest is around you, and its yours, you just gotta believe it is.

To your success,
Trevor Long

Pain is part of growing

Pain is part of growing.

Sometimes life closes doors because it’s time to move forward.  And that’s a good thing because we often won’t move unless circumstances force us to.  When times are tough, remind yourself that no pain comes without a purpose.  Move on from what hurt you, but never forget what it taught you.  Just because you’re struggling doesn’t mean you’re failing.  Every great success requires some type of worthy struggle to get there.  Good things take time.  Stay patient and stay positive.  Everything is going to come together; maybe not immediately, but eventually.
Remember that there are two kinds of pain: pain that hurts and pain that changes you.  When you roll with life, instead of resisting it, both kinds help you grow.
Without some pain there is no growth. When you are comfortable, you don't need to do anything. You've got to get uncomfortable in order to grow.
When you belly is full and you have a roof over your head, TV and internet, what else do yo really need?
In order to grow, you've got to get uncomfortable. How? Tony Robbins said simply "Raise Your Standards".
So raise your standards, refuse to accept your comfortable mediocrity, set some goals, and start immediately to take massive directed action towards those goals.

New Years Resolutions

I'm not much into New Years Resolutions, never have been,

Firstly, you don't need to wait till the beginning of the year to DECIDE on a new course of ACTION (Tony Robbins defines DECIDE as To Cut Off From Any Other Possibility).

Secondly, a resolution is not a goal, until you know WHY you want to achieve it, and have a PLAN of ACTION towards achieving that goal.

Lets look at a few examples of common New Years Resolutions:

I want to quit smoking -

  • Why? - I will live longer, I will feel healthier, I will be fitter, I will smell better, I won't feel like a social outcast, my family and friends will be happy, I will be around longer for my kids.
  • Plan of Action - Progressively cut down number of cigarettes smoked until its zero by end of Feb, delay first cigarette of the day by 5 mins every day, drink water instead of a cigarette, practice deep breathing instead of a cigarette, take a walk at lunch time, stop hanging around with smokers at work.
I want to lose weight -
  • Why? - I will be healthier, I will be fitter, I will live longer, I will look better in my clothes and swimsuit, I will look and feel sexier, I will be more attractive to the opposite sex, people won't call me names or look at me strangely, I will be around longer for my kids.
  • Plan of Action - Decide on a goal weight or dress size, throw out all the junk food in the house, quit take away food and restaurants, especially quit fast food, plan weeks meals in advance, prepare a healthy lunch to take to work each day, drink more water, start and maintain an exercise program, get a checkup from my doctor, weigh myself daily, no more than one standard drink when drinking alcohol.
I want to get my finances under control -
  • Why? - I'm spending too much money on stuff I don't need, I can get out of debt, I can save for the house/car/holiday, I want to prepare for my retirement, I want to invest in property/shares, I want to be able to take care of my parents, I want to send my kids to private school, I want to be able to contribute to a worthy cause, I want to own my own house debt free.
  • Plan of Action - Make a list of all debts and assets, start an automatic savings plan, start to domino my debts, record every dollar spent, identify financial leaks eg. eating out, foxtel payments, drunken taxi rides, get a better deal on your mortgage and utilities, research investment options.
OK, so that's just a few of the things that clients regularly come up with during a goal setting and planning session.

Which do you think has more chance of succeeding beyond Jan 5th, the drunken New Years Resolution, or the carefully thought out goal that has reasons why and plan of action?

Congratulations if you chose the latter! You can do this at any time, however the New Year is an excellent time to set yourself up to win for the next year. You normally have some time off to reflect on your past year, your wins and your learnings, and set a course for the next 12 months.

Your coach is an ideal sounding board to assist you with this process.
